Jan Tore is Head of Organisational Safety and Human Factors at Equinor, where he works at the intersection of people, technology, and risk in safety-critical operations.

His work focuses on how organisations can introduce new technologies responsibly, with particular emphasis on human factors, organisational safety, and ensuring that digital tools support sound judgement and meaningful human control.

At AI+ESRA,he will speak on “AI in decision-making: the darker side of technology optimism and the role of humans,” where he will discuss how AI can introduce new vulnerabilities, reduce control when explainability is lacking, and why safe and robust interaction between AI and humans depends on addressing both technical limitations and human factors.
