Petter Kvalvik is Head of Department for Business Development and Senior Scientist at the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE). Petter is heading the new research area on Digital Sovereignty, encompassing, among other things, the European data strategy, the European technology stack and the International Conference on Digital Sovereignty.

Petter leads the My Digital City program and the Norwegian FIWARE iHub for IoT. Both initiatives are important in piloting a Norwegian data space for smart communities, where Halden municipality, Østfold University College and Smart Innovation Norway are project participants.
