David is a retail technology veteran and AI strategist with over 30 years of experience at the intersection of point-of-sale systems, payments, and in-store innovation. He began his career as a developer and later served as CEO of pcAmerica, where he helped build the award-winning Cash Register Express and Restaurant Pro Express platforms and led the company through significant growth to a successful exit, scaling to over 80,000 installations across the United States.
Today, David serves as Global Industry Strategist and Futurist for HP’s Retail and Industry Solutions organization, where he focuses on the evolution of AI, computer vision, and next-generation payment technologies in physical retail and restaurant environments. His work centers on how intelligent systems are reshaping customer experience, store operations, and the future of brick-and-mortar commerce.
In addition to his technology career, David is a four-term elected school board member in New York, with over a decade of experience in public governance. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, travel, yoga, and exploring global food cultures.
