CEO at Versiro

Simon Risanger is a researcher who became an entrepreneur. He loved solving complex problems in academia, but noticed that a lot of impactful research did not find its way into industry. His PhD topic was about the integration of renewable energy, an area where it’s particularly important to quickly move from research to industry application. So, he co-founded Versiro for this purpose.

Versiro develops uses AI to do real-time analytics for short-term electricity markets. Their AI model considers uncertainty in production and volatility in the markets, and thus increases profits for flexible assets (like hydropower and batteries) and reduces costs of forecast errors for inflexible assets (like solar and wind).
