Minister of Digitalisation in Norway
As the Minister of Digitalisation in Norway, Karianne Tung (Labour Party) leads the Department of Digitalisation and Public Governance, which became effective on January 1, 2024.
She and her department are responsible for the government’s policies regarding the digitalization of state and municipalities, as well as the development of public governance.
The establishment of this new department marks a historical milestone, being the first of its kind in Norway.
Tung served as a Member of Parliament representing Sør-Trøndelag from 2013 to 2017 and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
Prior to her appointment as the Minister of Digitalisation, she served as the CEO of Trondheim Tech Port.
